Thematic description and context:

Bienále ilustrácií Bratislava - súťažná medzinárodná prehliadka ilustrácií detských kníh, má v roku 1997 30-ročné jubileum. Je to čas zrelosti a bilancovania. Ilustrovaná detská kniha je pre deti väčšinou prvým kontaktom s výtvarným umením, v tom je jej nezastupiteľnosť. Je zrozumiteľná a blízka deťom na celom svete bez rozdielu národnosti, náboženstva a farby pleti. Vždy je zdrojom fantázie, krásy a imaginácie. Na BIB sa doteraz zúčastnilo vyše 4000 výtvarných umelcov - ilustrátorov z približne 70 štátov všetkých kontinentov. Na BIB sa udeľujú ceny: Grand Prix, Zlaté jablká, Plakety a Čestné uznania. V emisii reprodukujeme práce autorov ocenených na BIB '95.
